Fame is fleeting. It does not last. Even notoriety fades quickly, especially in our day of instant media notifications—regardless if it's true or false.
As generations come and go, what was once great or sensational is forgotten. One of many reasons history repeats itself.
Loneliness is linked to death nearly as much as sorrow. When a loved one passes out of this life it leaves an empty place. This is especially true in the loss of a spouse, child, or parent but also with close friendships and other close family ties.
The space in our lives once filled by someone dear is not filled up by time or activity or someone else. It can't be filled with something or someone else but we can express this need to the Lord and ask Him to fill us with His goodness and presence.
Cliches are so....cliche! And yet so many are used and overused. Why? Because talk is cheap. I know, that's a cliche on its own but it's true.
Thoughts are expressed in words but words are empty when left hanging in the air. If we say, "I'll call you," or "I'll pray for you," but never do, these are empty words.
