Why do the nations ask, “Where is their God?” Our God is in heaven. Their idols are made of silver and gold, the work of human hands. They have mouths, but they cannot speak. Ancient peoples made physical idols, shaped from their own minds and with their own hands. We still create idols from our own imagination and will—some are physical, psychological, and even religious ones.
