A woman whose daughter had an evil spirit heard that he was there. She came to Jesus and fell at his feet. She was born in Phoenicia, in Syria. She begged Jesus to force the demon out of her daughter. Jesus told [her], “It is not right to take the children’s bread and give it to the dogs. First let the children eat all they want.” But she answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table can eat the children’s crumbs.” Then Jesus said, “Because of your answer, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.” The woman went home and found her daughter lying in bed; the demon was gone. (Mark 7:25-30 NCV) This foreign woman persisted in her request of Jesus. She humbled herself in confidence of the Lord's power and grace. Are we like her in our prayer life--humble, persistent, confident? ©Word-Strong_2014
