“Now I am very troubled. Should I say, ‘Father, save me from this time’? No, I came to this time so I could suffer. Father, bring glory to your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have brought glory to it, and I will do it again.” The crowd...heard the voice...Jesus said, “That voice was for your sake...Now is the time for the world to be judged; now the ruler of this world will be thrown down. If I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people toward me.” Jesus said this to show how he would die. (John 12:27-33 NCV) How could Jesus' death bring Him glory? It was not a mere death. It was an exchange--His life for our shame. It is God's gracious, humble love that draws us to Him. ©Word-Strong_2013
