The Lord swore an oath to David. This is a truth he will not take back: “I will set one of your own descendants on your throne. If your sons are faithful to my promise and my written instructions that I will teach them, then their descendants will also sit on your throne forever.” There I will make a horn sprout up for David. I will prepare a lamp for my anointed one. (Psalms 132:11, 12, 17 GWT)
God gave King David a great and lasting promise. But his descendants were not faithful. This promise spoke of an eternal king, the Messiah--Jesus, the Son of God, descended from David. God remains faithful, even when we are not. Trust in Him fully. ©Word-Strong_2013
